Our Story

Babur has been one of South East London’s most celebrated Indian restaurants since 1985. Founded with a passion for progressive Indian cuisine, we have spent four decades pushing the boundaries of what Indian food can be — while always staying true to the flavours, spices, and traditions that make it extraordinary.

Named after the first Mughal Emperor, Babur represents a culinary heritage that is royal in ambition and rich in culture. Today, we are proud to hold AA 2 Rosettes for culinary excellence and to be featured in the Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide.
